The aquarium should be very clean, and filled to about 8 inch deep with fresh, but matured, tap water. Anchor plants to leave a clear area just below the surface as it is likely that spawning will happen above the plants. The temperature should be raised to 80° F. In all other respects this species breed in precisely the exact same manner as does H. flammeus.

Fish Name : Rosy Tetra

Scientific Name : Hyphessobrycon Rosaceus

Average Temperature : 76° F

Reproduction : Oviparous

Natural Location : Guiana and Brazil

Cardinal tetra

Arguably the most popular of the small tetras, the cardinal tetra is similar in appearance to a longtime aquarium favourite, the neon tetra. Tank decorations aren’t that crucial, however the fish demonstrates its best colouring in a well decorated tank with a dark substrate. Floating plants will create shadowed areas in a tank and make the fish feel safe, which will lead to forming of shiny orange red colouring of its body.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0491/5593/files/EmberTetra_70c2c312-29e7-4cfe-b2ae-b48e15467daa.webp?v=1687765381
red-phantom-tetra
Tetra Red Phantom

The red Phantom Tetra is a colourful addition to any freshwater community aquarium. As long as it is kept in a well-maintained, mature aquarium with good biofilm and algae growth as well as high water flow, the Spotted Borneo Sucker is a hardy and entertaining fish. It will not bother aquarium plants.

The Spotted Borneo Sucker is a very social species, especially as an adult, so it should be kept in groups. There is a dark, almost black 'spot' bordered in yellow at the base of the tail. This gourami makes a rewarding challenge for the advanced hobbyist, especially in breeding pairs.

The Chocolate Gourami is a delicate fish that should be housed in at least a 30 gallon tank. It can be prone to bacteria and skin parasites, so good water quality is essential. The Chocolate Gourami prefers a well-established, thickly planted tank, with peat extract. Frequent water changes are a must. They do best if kept in pairs and are compatible with other shy, peaceful fish as tank mates.

The best way to differentiate between the male and female is the yellow border that extends along the edge of the male's anal and caudal fins. The Chocolate Gourami is a mouth brooder that is a frugal spawner. The male and female will spawn on the bottom of the tank and the female collects the eggs in her mouth. She will hold the eggs for 14 days during which time she does not eat, therefore, it is important that the female be in top condition before breeding.

The Chocolate Gourami is an omnivore and prefers both algae-based foods as well as meaty foods.
