Lysimachia nummularia (Tissue Culture)
This product is unavailable
L. nummularia, a moderately fast grower, is one of the most undemanding stem plants to grow. It can tolerate soft or hard water, pH in the 6.0-8.0 range, and temps from 15-25 C. Although this plant grows well in non-CO2, moderately lit aquaria, it prefers high light and CO2 addition along with plenty of NO3 and trace fertilization. L. nummularia are excellent indicator plants for NO3, showing very full, robust leaves with bright coloration only when its nitrate needs (>5 ppm) are met. Its growth is often stunted or slowed when these nutrients are deficient. Supplied from Tissue culture growth free of algae and snails.
Aquatic plants from tissue culture offer several benefits. They are free from pesticides and unwanted extraneous organisms such as parasites, pathogens, snails, planarians, insect larvae, algae and annoying "weeds" such as duckweed. The pesky removal of rock wool is omitted completely. And with one portion you get quite a large number of small individual plants.
