A yellowish-orange butterflyfish with a dusky-brown back, diagonal dark stripes on the lower sides, a broad black bar through the eye followed by a white bar immediately behind, a broad diagonal black bar from the gill cover to the dorsal fin, and a black spot on the caudal peduncle.
The Raccoon Butterflyfish is a peaceful fish that may reside in a ~500L or larger fish-only aquarium with other butterflyfish. It should not be kept in a reef tank since it will eat invertebrates and is deemed unsafe with corals.
