Danio - Dwarf Emerald Rasbora (Danio erythromicron)
The Emerald Dwarf Rasbora is a small, curious and active micro-rasbora that originates from the lakes of Eastern Myanmar. In Australia these fish are not as often seen in aquarium shops and stock can only be sourced from locally bred populations. Max Size- 2.5cm PH- 6.0-7.5 Temperature- 68-80.6°F (20-27°C) GH-2-10 KH-4-8.
Found in the shallow, densely planted lakes of Myanmar these fish should ideally be kept in similar aquarium conditions in the home aquarium. When kept in groups of at least 6 they can be observed at their best. Additionally, these fish spawn very easily in the home aquarium.
They lay their eggs almost daily and given the aquarium has enough cover the fry can survive predation. Furthermore, males are easily distinguished by their more distinct pattern as well as their deeper body colour.
Growing to a maximum of 2.5cm this fish are well suited to smaller aquariums and are considered somewhat shrimp safe. Also they enjoy a lifespan of 3-5yrs.
The Emerald Dwarf Rasbora is often kept with other smaller fish such as the Celestial Pearl Danios or Neon Green Rasbora.
