Heniochus Butterflyfish are also known as Bannerfish. They should be added to large well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing and hiding. Heniochus Butterflyfish are considered hardy, will generally adapt well in aquariums and should be kept with other peaceful tank mates. Heniochus Butterflyfish use their long noses to explore cracks and crevices for food and may pick at tube worms, crustaceans and clam mantles if not well fed. A diet of meaty foods including live fortified Brine and mysis shrimp and black or red worms along with herbivore preparations should be provided. If not readily eating, try pressing foods into holes or crevices mimicking their natural feeding habits. Heniochus Butterflyfish are considered peaceful and can be kept in groups if added at the same time.

The Longfin Bannerfish Butterflyfish is also known as the Black & White Heniochus, Pennant Coralfish or Poor Man's Moorish Idol, shows primarily black and white with the pectoral, caudal and back portion of the dorsal fin being yellow. The Longfin Butterfly can grow up to 25cm in length.

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 450L or larger for this species.
